Rapid Intervention Team
The Rapid Intervention Team (RIT) shall be mandatory on all ______.

- Any openings or access points immediately visible.
Upon deployment of the RIT, the IC will assemble an ______.
Additional RIT
On all W-3 in a large commercial structure, second alarm, or greater in any structure a secondary RIT consisting of ______ will be dispatched.
Ladder 4, Heavy Rescue 4 and Fire 4.
Upon arrival at the designated entry point, the RIT OIC shall attempt to complete the following:
1) Establish and maintain radio contact with the IC
2) Advise the IC of the location of the entry point
3) Confirm with IC that a protective hose line is being deployed behind the RIT if needed
4) Account for all RIT members entering the structure
5) Account for tools needed
Once the lost/trapped firefighter has been found there are several steps that need to be taken:
Maintain air supply to the downed firefighter.
1) Perform a sizeup of the rescue situation at hand.
2) Provide the downed firefighter with air if necessary.
3) Deactivate the firefighters PASS device if it is sounding
4) Perform a rapid assessment of the victim
5) Notify the IC of the situation, location in the building
