What is social cognition?
Input of stimulus - perception or recall from memory
Social cognition - information processing
Output - behaviour response or memory created
How are impressions of others formed?
Asch
There’s central which is warm and cold
There’s peripheral which is polite and blunt
What did Fiske argue about biases in forming impressions?
Negative is more travel and hard to shift their impressions.
It also depends on peoples facial structure like their nose shape.
Motivated tactician?
Takes it futher but we are motivated by our own experiences and sense of self, taken on and what we dot and we are as people. Impressions about people Varys on their own experiences.
