M - motivation
internal/intrinsic motivation
internal need is satisfied, you feel good about yourself
external/extrinsic motivation

vicarious reinforcement
if you see another person being rewarded for a behaviour you’re more likely to imitate it. e.g. you see your sibling get money for doing chores so you start doing chores
vicarious punishment
if you see someone get punished for a behaviour you are less likely to imitate it. e.g. you see another student get sent out for not doing their homework so you make sure you do yours
vicarious extinction
you notice someone has stopped being rewarded for their behaviour and so you stop
imitating it. e.g. your sister stops getting money for doing chores so you stop doing chores as well
