What is the strength of types of conformity that suggests that there is research support for the ISI?
- Lucas et al found that ppts conformed more to incorrect answers when maths questions were harder and the situation was more ambiguous
- Had to rely on answers given
- This supports ISI because it is what it would predict
What was the limitation of types of conformity that suggested that there are individual differences in NSI?
- Some people are more concerned about being liked by others and need to be affiliated.
- McGhee + Teevan found that these students were more likely to conform
- NSI predicts conformity for some people more than others which is an individual difference that is not explained.
