Q

resistence to social influence - social support

A

ppl can resist pressures to obey/confom when they recieve social support, having an ally gives someone the confidence to resist pressures and remain independent in behaviour.
resisting conformity = a person must identify with the ally and see them as a role model for independent behaviour, also individuals who have support no longer fear being ridiculed, avoiding NSI
resisting obedience = ally acts as a model of dissent for the individual to copy and this leads to a diffusion of responsibility where the individual no longer feels soley responsible for their actions, consequence of resisting is shared.
