Outcomes within your control - determined by your hard work, attributes or decisions
Define External Locus of Control?
Outcomes are outside your control, determined by fate and independent of work or decisions
What did Avtgis discover?
Meta analysis that results were that people with higher internal locus of control were less likely to conform
What did Oliner and Oliner discover?
Interviewed a group of Non-Jewish people who lived through the holocaust - compared 406 people and 126 of them had not hidden Jews from the Nazis - people that did showed characteristics of internal locus of control
What did Elms and Milgram discover?
Investigated the background of disobedient ppts involved in the first 4 of Milgram’s experiment and found that the disobedient ppts had high internal locus of control scores
