= 2-3 alongside others, don’t share or take turns, engrossed with their own things.
they don’t interact with others they do show interest in what others are doing
= like to be in presence of other children and adults

= between 3-8 yrs, develop wider network and form relationships, more co-operative in play helps language development
= at age 7, there are established friends, refer to one as a best friend.

- people get married, have children which is the front of peoples lives

–> influence members of a peer group can have on an individual
how can social development effect adolesence
- adolesence first opportunity to form social friendships and have more independence
- many other people can have an effect on a person, creating peer pressure
- effecting family life, self esteem, social interactions
