  1. By 1941 4 million had found jobs doing wartime work
  2. Farmers prospered through supplying food to the military
  3. Traditional industries of coal, iron, steel and oil were all boosted by the demands of war.
  4. Lend-lease programme stimulated the economy as jobs were created so more Americans were spending money (cycle of recovery)
