    • Mafia families used prohibition to make lots of money and frequently fought for control over cities.
    • There were gangsters in every city
  2. An estimated $2000 million worth of business was transferred from the brewing industry to bootlegers and gangsters.
  3. Money earned forced mobsters into money laundering
    • Created more crime
    • Lots of Prohibition-era money was funnelled into new casinos and hotels
