What is the definition of cardio vascular fitness?
The ability to exercise your whole body for long periods of time.
Give an example of a sport which will need cardio vascular fitness and why?
Marathon runners would need cardio vascular fitness because they are running at a high speed for a very long time.
What is part of the CV system?
Heart, lungs, blood and blood vessels. The CV system gets O2 to the muscles.
What is the definition of muscular strength?
The amount of force a muscle can exert against a resistance.
Give an example of a sport which needs Muscular Strength and why?
Weightlifting requires muscular strength because they have to make one massive effort.
What is the definition of muscular endurance?
The ability to use voluntary muscles repeatedly without getting tired.
Give an example of a sport which needs muscular endurance and why?
Tennis will need muscular endurance because it is played over a long period of time.
What is the definition of flexibility?
The range of motion of your joints.
Give an example of a sport which needs flexibility and why?
Hockey and badminton requires flexibility because they have to be able to stretch for the puck or shuttlecock.

Flexibility is important in sports where you need to perform particular skills.
What is the definition of body composition?
The percentage of the body that is muscle, fat or bone.
What is good about having a healthy percentage?
Having a healthy percentage can protect you from disease.
What is bad about having to much fat?
It puts more strain on your muscles and makes you more prone to injury and disease.
How do you calculate your Body Mass Index (BMI)?
Your BMI is calculated by taking your weight in Kg. Then dividing your weight by your height (metres squared). My BMI is 22.79 which is healthy.
Components of fitness
The components if fitness are usually needed in combination but not necessarily all at once or in equal amounts.
