Soc15: Structure Of The Heart Flashcards
1
Q
What does the vena cava do?
A
Leeds deoxygenated blood back to right atrium
2
Q
Right atrium?
A
Blood is pushed through the tricuspid valve
3
Q
Tricuspid valve?
A
Doesn’t allow back flow. Through to right ventricle.
4
Q
Right ventricle and left ventricle?
A
Right= contracts and pushes blood through pulmonary valve. Left= goes through to aortic valve
5
Q
Pulmonary valve and artery?
A
Valve= blood is leaving heart through this to artery. Artery= goes through here to lungs and is oxygenated.
6
Q
Pulmonary vein?
A
Blood comes here after it left lungs. Pushes back to left atrium.
7
Q
Left atrium?
A
Contracts and pushes through bicuspid valve.
8
Q
Bicuspid valve?
A
Pushes through to left ventricle. Prevents back flow.
9
Q
Aortic valve and aorta?
A
Valve= pushes through to aorta. Aorta= blood goes around whole body and is used up and process restarts.
10
Q
Septum?
A
Separates the ventricles
