Adaptation
Your body’s response to training and how your body changes to cope with new activity
Aerobic
Working at a moderate intensity level WITH oxygen.
Anaerobic
Working at high intensity level WITHOUT oxygen.
Alveoli
Tiny sacs within our lungs that allow oxygen and carbon dioxide to move between the lungs and bloodstream.
Diaphram
The primary muscle used in the process of inspiration or inhalation
Cardiac output
The amount of blood ejected from your heart in one minute
Stroke Volume
The amount of blood pumped per beat
Recovery rate
The speed at which your heart returns to RHR after you exercise.
Long Term effects of Aerobic exercise
- Improves cardiovascular health
- Helps reduce body fat
- Lowers blood pressure
Long Term effects of Anaerobic exercise
- Increases bone strength
- Increases bone density
Effects on the cardio-respiratory system, your heart
- Training muscles increases heart muscles in size, thickness and strength
- Increases rest stroke volume
