Cardiovascular fitness
The ability to exercise your whole body for long periods of time
What sports require cardiovascular fitness?
Long distance running (marathon, 1,500 metre, 10,000 metre etc)
Muscular strength
The amount of force a muscle can exert against a resistance (weightlifting)
Muscular endurance
The ability to use voluntary muscles repeatedly without getting tired
Flexibility
The range of motion at your joints
Why is it important to be flexible?
Because you are less likely to get injured, you can perform skills to a higher level for example doing the splits in gymnastics
Body compostition
Is the percentage of body weight that is muscle, fat or bone
How do you work out your BMI (body mass index)
BMI is calculated by taking your weight in kg and dividing it by your height in m squared
