What is a ‘lever’
In your body, the term ‘lever’ refers to a system of muscles and bones working together to help you move.
Exercising using a lever
When you exercise, your muscles pull on your bones, and your bones create movement, acting as levers.
A fulcrum?
The point around which the leaver rotates
A load-
The force that is applied by the lever system
Effort lever
A force that is applied by your muscles.
Lever arm
A rigid bar such as a bone.
Order of lever classes
FLE
Fulcrum in middle- 1st
Load in middle- 2nd
Effort in middle- 3rd
First class levers
In a first class lever, the fulcrum sits in the middle, between the load and the effort. A good example of a first class lver is the oat on a boat
