What are the five health related components of fitness?
Cardiovascular fitness, Muscular strength, Musclar endurance, Flexibility, Body composition
What is cardiovascular fitness?
The ability to exercise your whole body for a long period of time.
What sports require high amounts cardiovascular fitness?
Long distance running - Marathons, track events - Must be able to maintain
What is muscular strength?
The amount of force a muscle can exert against a resistance.
What is muscular endurance?
The ability to use voluntary muscles repeatedly without getting tired.
What is flexibility?
The range of motion of your joints.
Why is it important to be flexible?
If your flexible, you are less likely to get injured, therefore improving your overall to performance.
How do you work out your BMI (body mass index)?
BMI is calculated by taking your weight in kg and dividing it by your height in m squared.
What is body composition?
The percentage of body weight that is muscle, fat or bone.
