What are PED’s?
A substance that can be taken in a variety of ways to produce expected and welcome physiological effects
What do PED’s do?
Taking these drugs can increase the level of performance, but can also cause some side effects that are unpleasant.
Why do people take performance enhancing drugs? (PED’s)

Drugs that mimic the male sex hormone testosterone and promote bone and muscle growth
What are the benefits of anabolic steroids?
- Enhance performance
- Increase muscle mass and develop bone growth
- Increase strength
What are the side effects of anabolic steroids?
- Increased risk of musxlw injury
- Increased risk of heart attacks and strokes
- High blood pressure and even death
