A

You must play to the rules to make sure the competiton is fair and safe and no one gets injured. If you don’t play the rules, you recieve a punishment (could be a yellow card in football)

Why is important to wear protective equipment during a game?

A

Wearing protective equipment will vary depending on the sport and position but helps prevent injury towards players (e.g. shin pads in football). It’s also important to not wear clothing that might injure an opponent (e.g. jewellery)

What are the protocols for RICE?

A
  • Rest the injured area for 48 hours
  • Ice for 20 minutes a time, 4-8 times a day
  • Compress to help reduce swelling
  • Elevate the injured limb 6-10 inches above the heart

A

Foul play, impact with equipment, the playing surface or opponents, inappropriate clothing and damage or faulty equipment, very hot/cold weather. Caused by factors outside the individuals control
