Q

RICE

A

Rest- stop playing
48 hours

Ice- the cold can provide pain relief and limits swelling by reducing blood flow to injured area
For 20 minutes at a time 4 to 8 times a day

Compression- use pressure to hold the ice pack on the injury

Elevation- raise the injury at ideally above the person’s heart as this will minimise swelling
Elevate limb 6 to 10 inches above the heart
