Therapeutic class: Antidepressant; Anxiolytic
Examples:
duloxetine (Cymbalta) and venlafaxine (Effexor)

A
Inhibits reuptake of serotonin and norepinephrine, elevating mood, ma affect dopamine levels

Actions and Uses
A
Safer than other classes
Less common sympathomimetic effect ( increased HR and HTN)
Can cause weight gain and sexual dysfunction

Abnormal dreams Sweating Constipation Dry mouth Loss of appetite Weight loss Tremor Abnormal vision Headache N/V Dizziness Loss of sexual desire

Contraindications
A
With seizures; bupropion (Wellbutrin)
Use with caution in underlying CV cases
