The skull is divided into two parts.

A

Braincase also known as neurocranium which encloses the brain. One of the main functions of the braincase is to protect your brain. In addition to the braincase, there’s the facial skeleton known as the viscerocranium which provides structure and support for soft tissues of the face and houses the teeth.
