Lesions
changes in tissue structure caused by injury or disease
Psoriasis
painless condition characterized by rapid ste mcell divisions in the stratum germinativum, affected areas appear dry and scaly.
Cavernous hemangioma
a mass of large blood vessels which can occur in the skin or other organs in the body; or a birthmark
Pruritis
an irritating itching sensation, common in skin conditions
Sepsis
dangerous, widespread bacterial infection; leading cause of death in burn patients

removal and examination of tissue from the body for diagnosis of disease
Squamous cell carcinoma
form of skin cancer less common; restricted to areas of sun-exposed skin; metastasis seldom occurs

a thickened area of scar tissue covered by a shiny, smooth epidermal surface

a common fungal infection that causes an itchy crusty rash round patches on skin
Basal cell carcinoma
cancer that originates in the stratum germinativum; most common skin cancer. Metastasis seldom occurs
Graying hair
results from a lack of pigment and presence of air bubbles within the hair shaft
Athlete’s foot
common skin infection caused by a fungus and accusr between toes and can spread to other areas such as sole, groin, etc.
Alopecia
type of hair loss that occurs when your immune system mistakenly attacks hair follicles
