Aphasia
loss of ability to understand or express speech, caused by brain damage.
Huntington’s Disease
It is an inherited condition in which nerve cells in the brain break down over time and deteriorates a person’s physical and mental abilities.
Meningitis
Inflammation of brain and spinal cord membranes, typically caused by an infection.
Multiple Sclerosis
A disease in which the immune system eats away at the protective covering of nerves.
Ataxia
Neurological sign consisting of lack of voluntary coordination of muscle movements that can include gait abnormality, speech changes, and abnormalities in eye movements.
Stroke
Damage to the brain from interruption of its blood supply.
Neurotoxin
A poison which acts on the nervous system.
Parkinson’s Disease
A disorder of the central nervous system that affects movement, often including tremors.
Quadriplegia
Paralysis of all four limbs.
Sciatica
Pain radiating along the sciatic nerve, which runs down one or both legs from the lower back.
Shingles
A reactivation of the chickenpox virus in the body, causing a painful rash.
Seizure
Result of nerve cell activity in the brain being disturbed.
Epilepsy
A disorder in which nerve cell activity in the brain is disturbed, causing seizures.
Dementia
A group of thinking and social symptoms that interferes with daily functioning.
Paraplegia
Paralysis that affects all or part of the trunk, legs, and pelvic organs.
