A systematic approach to the mental process used by pilots to consistently determine the best course of action in response to a given set of circumstances.

Impulsivity

What’s the use.

Workload management
Ensures essential operations are accomplished by planning, prioritizing, and sequencing tasks to avoid work overload.
Risk management
Proactively identify safety related hazards and mitigate the associated risks.
Hazard
A condition, event or circumstance when a pilot encounters a source of danger.
Risk
The possibility of suffering damage, injury or death.
Communication
The exchange of ideas, information, and or instruction.
Internal resources
POH, checklist, aircraft equipment, knowledge, charts, and your own ingenuity.
External resources
ATC, maintenance, and Flight Service personnel.
Situational awareness
Accurate perception of the operational and environmental factors which affect the aircraft, pilot, and passengers.
