When selecting engine anti ice on what must we do?

A

Engine ignition on continuous to prevent potential flame out as Ice brakes off the cowling and is sent back through the engine

Why can’t we switch the electric hydraulic pumps on the ground?

A

Because the leading edge flap could retract and could be dangerous for CRew on the ground

Engine start control switch

A

Ground - opening bleed valve to the starter motor

Held in GND mode until

300- 46% N2 (percentage of max rpm)
700- 55% N2

Then automatically goes back to off

Continue ignition
Each engine has L and R igniters selected on the pannel

Flight 
Both igniters working at the same time 
Used in wind shear
Turbulence 
Heavy precipitation 
Used against flame out

MCP

A

Flight directs
- whichever one is switched on first become master (f/o or Capt)

Right first for PF

Set V2 which we get from FMC

Alt - set to 9900 to remind us we haven’t set it yet until ATC give clearance

Always set alt first on MCP

Set Nav displays

Press Nav display button - changes the whole compass rose

Plan display - gives flight plan
