What are the عَلَامَتٌ of an إسْمٌ?
- It is preceded by ال, e.g. الرَجُلُ
- It is in the مَجْرُوْرٌ state, e.g. بَيْتُ زَيْدٍ
- The last letter has تَنْوَيْنٌ, e.g. رَجُلٌ
- It ends with a round ة, e.g. كَلِمَةٌ
- It is a تَثْنِيْةٌ, e.g. رَجُلَانِ
- It is a جَمْعٌ, e.g. رِجَالٌ
- It is a مُسْنَدٌ إلَيْهِ i.e. فَاعِلٌ or مُبْتَدَأٌ
- It can be مُضَافٌ, e.g. قَلَمُ زَيْدٍ
- It can be a مَوْصَوْفٌ, e.g. الرَجُلٌ الصَغِيْرٌ
- It can be a مُنَادَى
- It can be a إسْمُ التَصْغِيْرِ
- It can be a إسْمُ المَسُوْبِ
Note: Verbs can also be dual and plural, however this in respect to the doer of the verb.
What are the عَلَامَتٌ of a فِعْلٌ?
- Preceded by قَدْ, e.g. قَدْ سَمِعَ
- Preceded by سَ, e.g. سَيَعْلَمُ
- Preceded by سَوْفَ, e.g سَوْفَ تَعَلَمُوْنَ
- Preceded by a حَرْفُ جَزْمٍ, e.g. لَمْ يَأْمُرْ
- Preceded by a حَرْفُ نَصْبٍ, e.g. لَنْ تَنْفَعَ
- Consists of a hidden ضَمِيْر, e.g. ضَرَبَ
- It is an imperative, أَمْرٌ, e.g قُلْ
- It is a prohibitive, نَهْيٌ, e.g. لَا تَحْزْنْ
