Q
Lhermitte’s Sign
A
Note also the presence of Lhermitte’s sign; this is defined as the sensation of a painless but unpleasant “electric shock-like discharge” originating in the neck or upper back and spreading down the spine into the limbs.
While Lhermitte’s sign is classically associated with Multiple Sclerosis, it can also be caused by acute compression of the spinal cord; however, this does not tell us if this is due to tumor, hematoma or even abscess.
