Shoulder and Biceps Tendon Flashcards
What are the muscles of the rotator cuff?
-subscapularis
-supraspinatus
-infraspinatus
-teres minor
What are the bones of the shoulder?
-scapula
-clavicle
-humerus
What is the patient positioning for long supraspinatus imaging?
modified crass position (hand in back pocket)
What does the supraspinatus in long look like?
beak like
What does the supraspinatus in trans look like?
tire on wheel
What is a normal supraspinatus thickness?
6mm
What is the critical zone of the supraspinatus?
avascular area prox to greater tuberosity (beak part)
What is the most common partial tear?
partial articular supraspinatus tendon avulsion ‘PASTA’
What are the patient positions for the biceps tendons?
modified crass position and hand on lap with palm up
What is a proximal bicep tendon tear aka?
Popeye muscle, seen as lower bulge
What does increased cellularity mean?
enlarged
What is a distal biceps tendon rupture aka?
reverse popeye sign, seen as upper bulge
What is the BT Prox protocol?
- Trans w SSp/SSc (modified crass)
- Trans in groove (hand in lap/palm up)
- Trans travel dist in groove (clip)
- Long in groove
What is the pt position for the infraspinatus tendon?
arm adducted with internal rotation (across abdomen)
