supine with folded towel under wrist to limit elbow extension and palm up
What structures are in the elbow pyramid?
biceps, pronator teres, brachio-radialis, brachialis, radial head, ulnar notch
What is the pt position for the triceps tendon/muscle?
crawling crab
What is the probe position for triceps tendon/muscle?
posterior on prox elbow, marker at 12
What tendon inserts into the olecranon?
triceps
What occurs when the median nerve is squeezed/compressed as it travels through the wrist?
carpal tunnel syndrome
What are the symptoms of carpal tunnel syndrome?
pain, numbness, tingling
Where is your marker at when scanning medial nerve in wrist and forearm?

What is important to remember when scanning the nerve in the forearm?
reduce probe pressure
What is the carpal tunnel equation?
prox nerve diameter / dist nerve diameter
What is the ratio for carpal tunnel syndrome?
greater than 1.4 indicates carpal tunnel syndrome
What images are taken when assessing for carpal tunnel syndrome?
- trans wrist level w measurement
- trans forearm level w measurement
Where is the most common location for a ganglion cyst?
back of wrist
