Crank Test
Positive test is pain

Clunk test
Positive test is a clunking/grinding sound
Tests for glenoid labrum lesion
Kim’s test
Positive test is posterior shoulder pain and crepitus
Tests for posterior inferior labrum lesion
O’Brien’s test
Positive test is pain/painful crepitus inside the shoulder
Pain with internal rotation = labral/SLAP, AC pathology
Pain with external rotation = Biceps long head tendinopathy
Empty can test - impingement
Positive test is pain
Tests for injury or lesion for the supraspinatus muscle (supraspinatus impingement)
Neer impingement test
Positive test is pain - noticeable through Pts facial expressions
Pain with internal rotation = supraspinatus impingement or subacrominal bursitis
Pain with external rotation = Biceps long head tendinopathy
Yergason’s test
Positive test is pain
If there is pain on bicipital groove = biceps tendinopathy
If bicep tendon slips/pops out of bicipital groove during supination = Transverse Humeral lig is torn
Pain in the shoulder = glenoid labrum pathology
Speeds test
Positive test is pain
Tests for bicipital tendonitis, impingement syndrome, labrum lesion, or bursitis
Hawkins Kennedy test
Positive test is increased local pain in Ant-Lat GH
Tests for supraspinatus impingement
