Why: Asymptomatic infections, may be relevant but need to prompt to ask; highly but not entirely preventable
When: Sexual health service, smear, fertility; abnormal discharge; social indication; opportunistically; environment
How: Signpost; normalise; acknowledge; permit; confidentiality
5 P’s of a sexual history
PAST (history of STI’s, testing, sexual health or functioning problems)
PARTNERS (genders, number, past, present, identity says nothing!)
PREGNANCY (contraception, fertility link between reproductive and sexual health)
PRACTICES ( How they have sex, important!)
PREVENTION (what they use, what when how often)
NB may want to ask about sexual abuse?
When signposting, 3 P’s?

Privacy
3 reasons for high HIV in GBM
Anal transmission is more likely
High HIV prevalence already
Dense sexual networks
HEEADSSS assessment for children (may be abused?)
