AVMA PVME (principal of vet med ethics) requires consent to release even to other veterinarians.

Report cases that deserve reporting, but be prepared for backlash.
Confidentiality and state statutes and regulations
For states that do have statues or regulations, the client, not the veterinarian, owns the confidentiality and only the client can wave it.

Practice can’t dictate what employees post on their own social media sites, but can set guidelines that have disciplinary consequences if violated.
