technology of touch that interacts with user via the sense of touch ex: Fitbit, google glasses, tile, apple watch, virtual reality.
Evolutionary view of information technology
connection view “IT as a tool” (1970-1995) –> Immersion view “IT as enviornment” (1991-2017) –> Fusion view “IT as fabric” (2017 - ?)

1990-95 “IT as a tool” used when it was needed, then leave. Connect & disconnect
Immersion View
1991-2017 “IT as environment” smart thermometers, wifi portable, rely more - think less. Examples: nest, it eventually adjusts to your temperature preference.
Fusion View
