- Unresponsiveness to painful stimuli

Definitive signs of death
- obvious mortal damage (body in parts, decapitation)
- Dependent Lividity (Blood settling)
- Rigor mortis (stiffening of body muscles)
- Putrefaction (decomposition of body tissue)
