A
When the normal immune response becomes uncontrolled, causing inflammation and begins to turn on itself.

What are causes of sepsis?
A
Bacterial infections and pneumonia.

Give an overview of sepsis.
A
Pathogen→Infection→Host response→Loss of homeostasis→organ dysfunction→death.

What does the sepsis 6 involve?
A
High flow oxygen, IV/IO fluids, IV/IO antibiotics, blood culture, blood lactate (lactic acid in blood) and urine output.

What are some signs of sepsis?
A
Slurred speech Extreme shivering or muscle pain Passing no urine (in a day) Severe breathlessness I feel like i might die Skin mottled or discoloured
