What is filteration?
A
Separating an insoluble solid from a liquid.

How does filtration work?
A
The filter paper lets the water pass through and drip into the beaker but it does not let the insoluble solid pass through as the holes are too small for the solid to pass through.

What happens when sand mixes with water?
A
The sand sinks to the bottom as it’s a insoluble and more dense than the water.
