How does evaporation work?

A

When the solution is heated,the particles gain more kinetic energy causing them to move faster and spread out, changing it into a gas. The copper sulphate is left behind as it has a much higher boiling point then water.

Why can’t sand and water be separated by evaporation?

A

Because sand is insoluble. So it is much faster to separate them via filtration,.
