Metals, non Metals And Group 0 Flashcards
Properties of metals
Solids at room temperature, High melting points, electrical conductors, thermal conductors, shiny when polished, high density, hard and strong, bases, malleable and ductile.
Properties of nonmetals
Solids liquids and gases at room temperature, low melting points, electrical insulator is, thermal insulated, dull, low-density, brittle, acids, not malleable and not ducktail,
Where are the noble gases located?
Group 0.
Why are the noble gases unreactive?
They are unreactive because they have a full outer shell of electrons.
Why does the atomic size increases as you go down the group?
Do you atomic size increases because you have more electrons and more electron shells.
Why does the density increases as you go down the group.?
The density increases because the size of the atom increases therefore there is more stuff in a given volume.
