Briefly explain ‘Touch and Pressure’.
Within the dermis of the skin are several nerves that are sensitive to touch and pressure.
Almost every tissue in the body can detect/sense ……..
pain.

hot/cold, compressed, stretched, not enough blood flow.

provides a waterproof barrier/protective barrier.
What is the purpose of the dermis?
gives structure, support, flexibility and strength.
What is the purpose of the hyperdermis/subcutaneous layer?
provides insulation and padding….
Where ‘subcut’ injections are given.
What is the key purpose of being able to taste?
allows animals to detect and identify dissolved chemicals.
