What is Zeroh?
A roasted lamb bone. This reminds the Jews of the offering of the lambs blood on the door.
What is Beitzah?
A hard boiled egg. It reminded them that they have to be tough (outer egg shell).
What is Maror?
Horse Raddish Root. The bitter herb symbolizes harsh time endured during the time of slavery. It is chopped.
What is Charoset?
A mixture of chopped apple, walnuts and red wine ground up together. It resembles cement as they built building during their time as slaves.
What is Karpas?
Onions, potatoes or parsley. They dip it into a side of salt water to remember their tears.
What is Charzeret?
Romaine lettuce. It is the second portion of herbs. Eaten in a sandwich with Matzah.
What is Matzah?
Unleavened bread with no yeast since when they were escaping they had no time to grab anything.
What do they do at the beginning?
Break bread to remember braking the bond of slavery.
