What does Kosher mean?
Jews are allowed to eat it (it is fit to eat.) It is written in the Torah scrolls.
What does Treyfah mean?
Food that is not allowed to be eaten (not Kosher.)
Whats Kosher?
Meat that has a split hove and chews the cud. Eg. Cows, goats and sheep.
Birds that eat grain (Chicken)
Fish that have fins and scales
All plants
How must animals be killed to be Kosher?
Animals must be killed in a not painful way and Jews can’t eat the blood because they believe that blood is life.
What 2 food groups do they keep separate?
Meat and Dairy. They have separate utensils. They must wait at least a few ours after eating meat to eat dairy. Other Kosher foods may be served with meat or Dairy just not with meat and dairy together.
