What is the NSF?

A

The National Security Framework is a digital only document that sets out the nationwide strategy for keeping prisons secure

What is the LSS?

A

A Local Security Strategy that is based on the NSF, but has establishment specific variations.
The LSS is tested annually in response to serious incidents (mainly desktop exercises)

What is the purpose of a roll check? And what happens during one?

A

To account for prisoners.
Usually occurs when prisoners are in their cells and the officer is on the landing or wing.
Requires a verbal response.
The number is then reported to control room.
NSF require 4 to be done in a 24h period
