Where are two places you would write in clef signs?
Beginning of each staff line
Whenever they need to change because of instrument range
When writing key signatures what is most important about placement?
They go at the beginning of the staff line They go in proper order
Where do the accidental signs go in relation to the note they modify?
Accidental signs go before the note they modify
Describe where time signatures go and how they are spaced.
Time signatures go at the beginning of the music and whenever they change. Common and cut time signatures are centered on the middle line, the numbered system are stacked; top number is centered in the top 3 lines, bottom number centered in the bottom 3 lines.
How long are note stems?
Normally they are 3 spaces long but can be longer depending on flags or beams.
What are guidelines for beams?.
Connect subdivided notes into beat groupings Follow the slope of the notes
Describe how to space the notes or rests within the measure?.
The measure is divided into even amounts depending on the number of beats with regards to the number of notes in each beat.

What is a lead sheet?
A lead sheet is a shorthand manuscript of a composition. Lead sheets are typically created for popular songs and jazz compositions.
At the minimum a lead sheet will contain the following elements:
Melody line
- Chord changes
- Performance directions (e.g. tempo and style/dynamics)
