Difference between individual and dual person fighting positions
Individual-small as practicable, exposing a minimum target to enemy fire
Dual- gives protection against the crushing action of tanks -In sandy or soft soils, it is necessary to revet the sides to prevent caving in
Dimensions of fighting positions
approximately 3-feet thick and 1⁄2-foot high,
elbow rest must be 4 feet deep from the fire step
Disadvantage of two man fighting position
Offers somewhat less protection against a tank crossing as well as less protection against strafing, bombing, and shell fragment
Advantages of two man fighting position
Allows continuous observation, mutual assistance and reassurance, and the redistribution of ammunition
How do you maintain your helmet?
Clean the suspension, headband, chinstrap, and retention band of the helmet.
- Wash the suspension, headband, chinstrap, and retention band, then air dry.
What do you not do with your helmet?
- Do not heat water in it.
- Do not hammer with it.
- Do not dig with it

What is APLS?
Armour protection level system
established to define body armor protection levels from level 0 to level 3.
What are the 4 levels of APLS?
(Never say empty because there is soft inserts)
- Level 0 No body armor worn
- Level 1 Vest/PC with Soft Armor Only
- Level 2 Vest/PC with front and back hard armour plates
- Level 3 Vest/PC with Front, Back and side hard armor plates
Who can raise or lower the APLS level?
Commanders
Must be at the Lieutenant Colonel level or higher to determine required APL for wear by assigned personnel
Differences between camo, cover and concealment
Camouflage- anything to keep from looking like what it really is
Cover-gives you protection from anything
Concealment-hides you from enemy observation
Difference between high, low and back crawl
High- cover/concealment available, greater speed needed, poor enemy visibility
Low-cover and concealment is scarce and enemy has good view on area, no speed needed
Back- lay on your back, weapon lengthwise with muzzle down
Difference between night walk and creeping
night walk-standing
creeping-on hands and knees
Difference between popping the corner and stock technique
Popping- low profile w/ ability to observe around the corner and immediate capability to engage targets w/ your weapon
Short stock- left or right handed when using technique, prevents the muzzle from protruding and reduces marines exposure
How do you cross an open area?

What are the 4 CASEVAC priorities?
Priority 1- URGENT- should be evacuated asap w/ 2 hrs to save life, limb or eyesight
Priority 2- PRIORITY- personnel requiring prompt medical care, evac within 4hrs whose conditions could because urgent
Priority 3- ROUTINE- personnel requiring evac but health not expected to deteriorate, evac within 24hrs
Priority 4- CONVENIENCE- PTs whom evac by med vehicle is matter of medical convenience
