What can you see, feel, hear?
pulse rate, respiratory rate, blood pressure, LOC (AVPU), pupil reaction, skin (texture/colour/temperature), vomit

Symptoms
A
What the patient tells you.
palpitations, nausea, dizziness, pain

Physical Assessment
A
head to toe survey: head and face neck thorax (between head and abdomen) abdomen pelvis extremities spine (check for medi-alert jewellery)

Head to Toe Examination
A
Visualise Listen Palpate (gently feel with hands/fingers) Compare (symmetry) Distal Pulses Full movement all limbs

Examining Children
A
Consider foot to head to gain trust.
Never lie to a child - you’ll loose their trust.
Consider demonstrating on a child’s toy.
