What are the two types of search patterns?
- directional search procedure

When would you gauge check?

What is the route when following a guideline?
Short to long = going to the search area
Long to short = Coming back

Lose lay

Round turn two half hitches, clove hitch, over hand knot (pigs ear)

Guideline = 6-8mm Tabs = 3mm
How do you identify what a main line and whats a branch line
Main = tallies Branch = numbers 1-2-3-4
When can guidelines be used
- When good comms has been established
- Only on instruction of IC
- Sufficient risk assesment been made
- No other practical means available
- Hose hauled aloft
