What should the BA emergency team consist of?
A
- Must be equal to the largest team in the risk area.
- Must be provided with sufficient/suitable equipment for the task e.g. E.A.S.E.
- Cylinder capacity and duration must be equal to the BA wearers.

When should emergency BA team be considered?
A
- When requested
- When there has been a prolonged period of time with no comms
- Indications BA wearer is in distress
- Activation of distress signal
- BA wearer fails to return in time of whistle.

Actions of the distressed team
A
- Tell ECO the situation
- Tell them your location and intent (state BA emergency)
- Cylinder contents
- Assess whether to relocate to safe area.
- Adopt entrapped procedure to preserve air
- One member activate ADSU

What is the procedure when you become entrapped?
A
Remain calm, slow down breathing, try sitting down etc. Try not to talk too much. Inform ECO all relevant info. Operate ADSU

When is a BA set reported as a malfunction?
A
- When in use in contaminated area whether training or operationally.
- While set is still being worn after leaving contaminated area.
- Discovered during immediate check prior ops.
- When there is potential for deprivation of air.

- Use of cosmetic smoke
- During routine check
