What is a schema ?
A
All of the information needed to make a movement decision.
Stored in the LTM

What is initial conditions section ?
A
- Refers to information from the sporting environment that must be recognised before the schemas used
- This may be looking at the position on court, placing of limbs and opposition position
- This can be summed up as the ‘what am I ?’

What is the response specifications ?
A
- environment is used to assess the options available
- Start to think ‘Who is the nearest player?’ ‘What type of pass is the best one?’
- This can be summed up as ‘what do I need to do’

What are the first two parts of the schema called ?
A
- The recall schema
- responsible for initiaing the movement and happens before the action has happened

What are the sensory consequences ?
A
- the use of senses to help guide the movement
- the grip on the netball
- the strength on the pass based on the feel
- e.g for a longer pass there needs to be a firmer grip on the ball and the arm strength would be stronger

What is the response outcome ?
A
- schema and motor programme can be updated by the knowledge of results
- if the pass has been successful the schema has been successful
- if the pass isn’t successful, adjustments need to be made

A
- recognition schema
