Signalement of shoulder luxation?

A

Acute - any dog, age, breed
Congenital luxation: Toy poodle, sheltie breeds - presentation 3-10months of age

Presentation of congenital luxation? Dirextion of luxation?

A

Often bilateral -> very short front limbs
75% medial luxation, the rest is lateral (and a very few cranial or caudal)

Concomitant fracture

A

Traumatic luxation, seen within a few days of injury
