Cause is mostly unknown

Asymptomatic Fatigue Weight loss Aches and pains Arthritis SOB Dry eyes

Idiopathic

A
Uveitis Skin nodules Pulmonary fibrosis Pulmonary arterial hypertension Cor pulmonale Respiratory failure

A
Bilateral hilar lymph node enlargement

What are the stages of sarcoidosis?
A
0 - no abnormalities 1 - lymphadenopathy 2 - lymphadenopathy + pulmonary infiltration 3 - pulmonary infiltration 4 - fibrosis

How is sarcoidosis diagnosed?
A
Clinical history and examination Serum calcium raised ACE levels CXR Lung function test - restrictive CT thorax Biopsy

When treatment is necessary what is given?
A
Corticosteroids
