Q

What are the intecalated ducts ?

A
  • lined by cubodial epithelium
  • conduct secretions from acini (A) to straited ducts
  • join in lobule to form straited duct

Q

What are features of the straited duct ?

A
  • lined by tall columnar epithelium with large nuclei towards apex
  • basal cytoplasm has interdigitation of cytoplasmic process and columns of mitochondria
  • Na + pumps reabsorbed Na+ and Cl- and replace K+ and HCO3- salivary goes from isotonic to hyptonic
  • secretes lysozymes and IgA
